Wes’ background includes more than 15 years of experience in business administration and investment management. He launched Wood Financial in 2006 as a premier provider of comprehensive services addressing the unique risk-management needs of retirees and pre-retirees. It also provides specialized services for high-net-worth individuals, executives and physicians. As an independent firm untethered to any one investment methodology, Wood Financial is committed to devising tailor-made financial plans that best suit individual needs and expectations. Wes utilizes his business acumen and inventive knowledge of the financial industry to help clients navigate the chaos of fluctuating stock markets, effectively matching investments to client portfolios so as to build net worth.
Prior to starting his own company, Wes worked for MassMutual Financial Group in investments and insurance and later joined Memphis-based McAdams Tax Advisory Group, an independent advisory group specializing in issues concerning retirees. Wes has built his career on helping people grow their wealth, in the process earning local, regional and national credibility as a media-savvy financial professional with a robust knowledge of markets and investments. He has frequently guested on radio shows nationwide and been featured in The Tennessean. His recent appearances include Fox Business News’ Varney & Company and FBN’s Willis Report.
Wes has also given hundreds of audience presentations on money and investment, covering topics such as distribution, tax strategies for the wealthy, maximizing Social Security benefits and “Most Common Mistakes Retirees Make with Their Finances.” A disciple of Bill Bachrach’s acclaimed book Values-Based Selling, Wes has implemented many of Bachrach’s espoused methods. This includes a focus on knowing the purpose of money while following a blueprint predicated on security so that clients worry less about outliving their money. Wes has a strong reputation built on integrity, creativity and innovation and has an exemplary client retention rate. Wes provides extensive operational support for numerous local philanthropic and non-profit organizations throughout Sumner, Robertson and Wilson counties.
